GTM Co-Founder — founder go-to-market spine for indie builders
Open MIT Agent Skills pack that acts as the GTM co-founder you may not have — founder brief, market research, then a stage-aware roadmap for positioning, first users, launch, and pricing.
Access: Host tools may need a paid subscription to run skills. The GitHub pack is MIT and free to clone. Upstream README also mentions QC Growth advisory; Baonat recommends the free open-source skills only, not paid consulting.
- What it does
- Installs AIDevGTM’s gtm-cofounder skills so Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Windsurf, and other Agent Skills hosts run a sequenced founder GTM path: 00-start-here → research-the-market → strategy-and-roadmap, then stage skills (ICP, positioning, first users, launch, pricing).
- Best for
- Technical founders, first GTM hires, and founding AEs shipping developer tools or AI products who need strategy next-moves — not another SEO tip list.
- How to install / use
- Install with `npx skills add AIDevGTM/gtm-cofounder` (or clone / Claude Code plugin). Tell the agent to run 00-start-here, then research-the-market, then 01-strategy-and-roadmap. GitHub artifact is MIT.
Start with 00-start-here → research-the-market → 01-strategy-and-roadmap before any tactic skill.
Copy this
- Install gtm-cofounder; run 00-start-here before other skills
- Demand a founder brief + market research with links before a roadmap
- Ask for one Now move and what to park — not ten marketing tactics
When to use
Reach for GTM Co-Founder when you are the person carrying go-to-market — often alone — on a developer tool or AI product, and you need a strategy spine: who it is for, why they would pay, and the single next move — not a pile of marketing tactics.
Good fits:
- Indie / bootstrapped founders with nights-and-weekends GTM and no commercial co-founder.
- First GTM hire or founding AE with no internal playbook.
- “We have stars / users but nobody pays” moments where tactics would be the wrong next step.
Featured Business highlight: strongest Baonat Featured treatment in this Business set — it matches the indie-store / founder audience best.
Skip it when you need CRO/SEO/copy execution (marketing-skills), a community GTM operator library (swan-gtm-skills), or pure product-engineering workflow (superpowers).
Access note
Host tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Windsurf, etc.) may require a paid subscription to run skills. The GitHub artifact is MIT and free from AIDevGTM/gtm-cofounder. The upstream README also mentions QC Growth human advisory. Baonat recommends the free open-source skills only — not paid consulting. Running the pack inside a paid host is a host-plan choice.
Why
Chatbots handed “help me go to market” invent ten tactics. GTM Co-Founder (by Shane O’Connor / AIDevGTM, sharpened by frameworks from Adam Frankl and Jakub Czakon and pressure-tested with design-partner founders) forces a brief, real market research with links, then an honest Now / Next / Later roadmap.
Baonat marks this verified against the public MIT repo. Link sources — do not paste wholesale SKILL.md bodies.
Install
- skills.sh CLI:

00-start-here - Confirm host access — skill runtime may need your agent plan

Kickoff — diagnosis before tactics:
Install skills from https://github.com/AIDevGTM/gtm-cofounder and run 00-start-here with me.
Then run research-the-market, then 01-strategy-and-roadmap.
I am building: [one line]. Stage: [pre-launch | early users | some revenue].
Output: founder brief → researched findings with links → one Now move and what to park.
Do not give me ten marketing tactics yet.
When stuck in tactics mode:
Re-read my founder brief and gtm-roadmap. Challenge whether this tactic is the Now move.
If not, say what evidence I need first.
Concrete scenarios
- Stars but no payers. Roadmap says you lack activation/payment evidence — next move is the missing proof, not “post more.”
- Vague “for developers” ICP.
who-is-this-for/ talk-to-users skills force a real segment and interviews. - Homepage that describes your solution. Positioning / homepage skills rewrite for the buyer’s problem after the spine exists.
Pitfalls / when NOT to use
- Skipping start-here. Later skills expect the founder brief; generic advice means you skipped setup.
- Confusing this with marketing-skills. This is strategy sequencing; that pack is CRO/SEO/copy execution.
- Implying paid QC Growth is required. Free MIT skills are the recommendation; advisory is optional upstream.
- Pasting entire skill files. Install/link; do not republish wholesale bodies.
