Marketing Skills — CRO, copy, SEO, and growth for coding agents
One open MIT collection of Agent Skills for technical marketers and founders — conversion, copywriting, SEO, analytics, and growth — not dozens of separate Baonat cards.
Access: Host tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Windsurf) may need a paid subscription to run skills. The GitHub pack is MIT and free to clone. Upstream lists Verified Partners; Baonat recommends the free MIT skills only, not partner products or Corey’s paid agency/training offers.
- What it does
- Installs Corey Haines’s Marketing Skills pack so Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Windsurf, and other Agent Skills hosts load marketing playbooks (product-marketing first, then CRO, copy, SEO, ads, and related skills) when you work on growth tasks.
- Best for
- Indie founders and technical marketers who want coding agents to help with landing pages, conversion, SEO, and outbound — without buying a separate marketing SaaS for the skill files themselves.
- How to install / use
- Install with `npx skills add coreyhaines31/marketingskills` (or Claude Code / Codex plugin marketplace). Start from product-marketing context, then load the skill that matches the job (CRO, copywriting, seo-audit, etc.). GitHub artifact is MIT.
Install the collection once, then name the marketing job — product-marketing context loads before specialized skills.
Copy this
- Install the Marketing Skills pack; do not paste wholesale SKILL.md bodies into chat
- Ground work in product-marketing (audience, positioning) before CRO or copy passes
- Ask for one concrete deliverable (landing rewrite, SEO audit outline, cold-email sequence) with constraints
When to use
Reach for Marketing Skills when you want a marketing collection inside the agent you already use — not a one-off prompt and not a paid CMO product. It is one Baonat card for the whole pack: CRO, copywriting, SEO, analytics, ads, retention, and related playbooks that share product-marketing context.
Good fits:
- Landing or homepage conversion work where the agent needs CRO frameworks, not generic “make it convert.”
- Founder-led copy, cold email, or content that should match positioning you already defined.
- SEO / AI-search audits and growth experiments you will run in Cursor, Claude Code, or Codex.
Collection card: Baonat does not split this into dozens of sub-skill pages. Install the pack; pick the skill that matches the task.
Skip it when you only need a design-taste pass (frontend-design-taste), pure engineering performance (vercel-react-best-practices), or founder GTM strategy spine (gtm-cofounder) rather than marketing execution skills.
Access note
Host tools may require a paid subscription to install and run Agent Skills. The GitHub artifact is MIT and free to clone from coreyhaines31/marketingskills. The upstream README lists Verified Partners (sponsored tool integrations) and commercial offers (agency, training, related products). Baonat recommends the free MIT skills only — not partner products, and not paid agency or training upsells. Running the pack inside a paid host is a host-plan choice; the skill files are not a separately sold Baonat product.
Why
Bare “write marketing copy” prompts skip product context and collapse into generic SaaS fluff. Marketing Skills (by Corey Haines) packages an interconnected set of skills so the agent reads product, audience, and positioning first, then applies the right playbook for CRO, SEO, ads, or outbound.
Baonat marks this verified against the public MIT repo. Link to upstream — do not paste wholesale SKILL.md bodies into chats; install the pack and let skills load.

Kickoff — marketing job with product context:
Use the Marketing Skills pack for this task. Load product-marketing context first
(audience, positioning, offer). Then apply the matching skill for:
[CRO audit | landing copy rewrite | SEO audit | cold-email sequence].
Constraints: [brand voice / ICP / must-keep claims]. Do not invent metrics.
Deliverable: one concrete artifact I can ship or review today.
Conversion-focused pass:
Attach cro (+ copywriting if needed). Audit this page for conversion friction.
Propose prioritized changes with rationale. Do not redesign the whole brand.
Concrete scenarios
- Indie SaaS homepage. Agent reads product-marketing, then CRO + copywriting for a tighter first viewport and CTA — without inventing fake social proof.
- SEO audit before a content push.
seo-audit(and related skills) structure findings; you decide what to implement. - Founder outbound. Cold-email / sales-enable skills draft sequences grounded in your ICP, not generic spam templates.
Pitfalls / when NOT to use
- Treating Partner listings as Baonat recommendations. Partners fund upstream work; Baonat endorses the free MIT skills only.
- Pasting SKILL.md wholesale. Install/link the pack; do not republish skill bodies.
- Skipping product context. Specialized skills expect product-marketing grounding — vague “improve conversion” without ICP burns tokens.
- Wrong spine. Need “what to do next in GTM strategy,” not CRO tactics? Prefer
gtm-cofounder.
FAQ
Q: Who wrote this?
A: Corey Haines (coreyhaines31). Primary source: coreyhaines31/marketingskills.
Q: Is Baonat selling Corey’s agency, training, or partner tools?
A: No. We recommend the free MIT skill collection on GitHub only.
Q: Claude only?
A: No — Agent Skills–compatible hosts (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Windsurf, and others). Install per harness. Tool label on this card is Multi.
Q: Why one card instead of one per skill?
A: Collection cards keep Baonat’s catalog readable. Upstream already organizes dozens of skills; we link the pack and key folders.
